Your Heart is Your Heart

I’ve told you once; I’ve told you twice:

“Never take a brash boys advice.”

They’ll laugh and they’ll smile.

They’ll sing and they’ll wink.

Even make you a card,

With flowers of pink.

But don’t listen!

‘Cause your heart will surely sink;

If you listen to brash boys, and whatever they think.

—Oh! And did I mention. . .they really do stink.

I’ve told you once; I’ll tell you once more:

All girls— of every color, shape, and size—should be adored.”

They are pure and precious:

Stars amongst wreckage.

And all girls are queens:

Whether dirty or clean.

So treat them right, and never be mean.

—Oh! And if you do, decide to be mean.

They have every right, to dye your hair green.

I’ve told you once, and I’ll tell you again:

“Your heart is your heart; only you decide who’s allowed in.”

Your hearts to feel loved.

It should soar like a dove.

—Some will try, to pump your heart full of lies.

But please do not listen!

And I strongly advise,

To give them a wave,

And tell them. . .

“Good riddance!—bug eyes!”

—Oh! Wait. Maybe that shouldn’t be said,

Because you’re a queen;

And far too superior than those dummy heads.

    1. Thank you so much, Sunny! I apologize if that’s not your name (I’m just assuming 🤞). Your words are very kind, and I don’t hear “wise” paired with my name very often haha. Very goofy personality will do that to you.

      1. Haha yep, that sounds about right! There’s just a lot of heart stealing going on in those world; and I’m trying to be the hero that stops it. Taking hearts from the rich, and giving them to the poor.

  1. Если бы каждая девушка любила себя так, мир был бы гораздо прекраснее. А мужчины, осознавая, как девушки себя любят, тянулись бы вверх и развивались, чтобы таких королев покорять.
    Но девушки себя не любят.

    1. Margarita, that is so true: the world would be so much better. And that was one of my many thoughts when writing this.

And women should not be something to conquer; it’s sad that’s even a thought, but it seems true in many cases.
How can we rise above that, and make a change? Any thoughts?

      1. To change the world around, you need to change yourself.
So act as you teach others, set an example. And this will be our start.
I’m also trying! For example, I have long persuaded my neighbor to wear dresses, because she has a very beautiful figure. But she did not wear them until I started wearing dresses every day. Now we are both in skirts 🙂

  2. It sounds wonderful! I love the flow of it. I love that it is a serious message delivered in a way that children will enjoy. My daughter (who is 9) loved it as well. The moral of it is what I adore the most. You did a great job! 😊👌

Please let me know if there’s a story or poem she’d ike to hear, and I’ll try my best to to write it!

    1. Thank you so much, Clara! I’m so glad it kept your attention. And your kind words mean a lot to me!

My goal was to share a lesson in an entertaining, silly way.

Thank you very much for reading and sharing your feedback!

      1. Hi Reggie,

Haha! I’m a teacher myself. And, I read the 11 facts about yourself. My partner was also largely responsible in pushing me to write 🙂 I think you did an excellent job anyway. Looking forward to more posts!
